Huddersfield Giants Rugby in the CommunityOver 4 days, almost 100 children came down to the Zone and made new friends while having fun with rugby. Tackling, kicking and passing skills were taught through games and the feedback from the children, and parents, proved that the Zone is the place to be when ‘Giant Fun’ is needed. Every child that attended received a certificate and an exclusive medal, along with a bag of goodies; signed photos, Giants’ match programme’s and a copy of ‘Rugby League World’ magazine. 8 year old Danielle attended her first rugby camp and thought it was “fabulous”. She added, “I really liked it and I think the Giants Rule!!!” The focus of the Giants’ rugby camps is for anyone to come along and have fun in a safe environment, whether they’ve played rugby before or not. One parent stated that “the camps are an excellent way to try a new sport without having to commit a lot of time or money”. A lot of the children attended for the first time but there were also many regulars that had been on our Easter camps earlier in the year. Following this success the community team have already started promoting their October camps in order that they can be even bigger and better than these. Pick up an October leaflet today from the Zone reception. Information is also available from The Zone website; www.thezone.uk.com or call reception on 01484 484134. |
