Huddersfield Town Cheerleaders

Football’s will not be the only thing flying through the air this season, soon spectators will see girls flying through the air during the half time interval at Huddersfield Town home matches.

The next home game the cheerleaders will perform at is when Town take on MK Dons at the Galpharm Stadium, Saturday 23rd August.

Huddersfield Town’s Cheerleading squad is going through major changes and will soon be performing complex routines containing advanced stunting.

With the help of Huddersfield Town’s new cheerleading coach, Zoe Prince, the former squad is being developed into a competitive team.

The main goal for the Huddersfield Town cheerleaders is to become an elite squad. They have been training since May, in the state of the art dance studio at The Zone. They are responsible for linking the social and fun factors of cheerleading with the athletic and gymnastic elements, which makes it spectacular to watch.

Coach Zoe states: “The cheerleaders are truly ambassadors to the football club and our goal is to raise awareness that cheerleading is a legitimate athletic discipline. We have a range of classes for children of all ages and ability. It is a great way to get involved in sport in a fun atmosphere, so come down and give it a try in one of our cheerleading classes or holiday camps.”

Cheerleading practices take place at The Zone, St Andrews Road in Huddersfield in the new interactive dance studio. The Zone is an excellent venue were the team learns new stunts, jumps, cheer and chants.

If you are interested in becoming a cheerleader, we have a range of classes available for children from the age of 3 years. We even have a fun cheerleading class for adults in the studio. For more information please email Zoe Prince at: dance.thezone@btconnect.com.
